Fix an AI image
Edit an AI-generated image by splitting it into layers and changing one of them — recolor, replace, hide, or retype — so the rest of the generation stays.
Split the picture, then replace a broken element, recolor one object, or hide a bad caption. The layers you do not touch stay as they were.

Drop an image to split it into layers
Separate the subject, text, and background, then move or resize any layer.
1
Any JPG, PNG, or WebP from Midjourney, ChatGPT, Flux, or a similar tool. No account connection is required.
2
Face, clothing, props, caption, and background separate when the generator drew clear edges.
3
Do not replace a layer that also contains the part you liked. Solo it first.
4
Recolor is 3 credits. Replace is 4. Remove text hides a caption. Edit text types a new one.
5
Keep the project for the next note. Download a PSD or open it in PhotoCraft.
Replace redraws one layer from a prompt. 4 credits.
A caption layer can be hidden or replaced. Fonts are not matched.
Change a material without asking for a new image.
The usual note on a generated image is local: wrong color, extra object, broken hand, caption in the wrong language, background that does not match the brief. Regenerating answers that note by throwing away the crop and the face. This page is the edit after a split. AI image to layers is the same split described from the generation side, including older Midjourney guides that now point there.
Replace redraws the layer you selected. If the hand is fused to the sleeve and the torso, the replace includes all of that. Say so to the client before you spend the 4 credits. Recolor is safer when the shape is right and only the color is wrong.
A burned-in caption is edit text or remove text. There is no translator and no original font, because the generator did not provide either. Type the corrected line or hide the old one.
Clothing and background edits are replace or recolor on those layers. Keeping a face means the face pixels are on a layer you do not send to replace. The split does not promise that separation on every portrait. Hair, glasses, and earrings are the usual leaks. Saved projects let you return if the first edit was too wide. PhotoCraft is there when you would rather mask by hand.
A full-resolution 2K split costs 5 credits and includes the PSD and the PNG ZIP. The price does not grow with the number of layers. Arranging a project and downloading a finished export do not add another charge. A failed or timed-out split is refunded. Guests can run one 1K preview a day and cannot export that preview.
You still cannot predict how cleanly a given generation will separate. You can predict the price: 5 credits for the 2K split, then 3 or 4 if you recolor or replace. Guest previews at 1K do not export.
Read the note before you upload. “Make the coat red” is a recolor if the coat is a layer. “Remove the sign” is remove text or a hide, if the sign separated. “The sign should read the new line” is edit text with the line in your clipboard. “Fix the hands” is probably not a one-layer job. Look at the stack and decline the note if the hands are part of the torso.
Run a single split. Save the project immediately, before replace, so you can return to the untouched stack. Then select one layer and run one edit. Compare at 100 percent. If the face moved, you selected too much. Restore the project and try a smaller layer, or stop. AI image to layers is the same split explained for people who are still deciding whether to reroll in Midjourney or ChatGPT. This page assumes you have already decided to edit the still.
PhotoCraft is the manual exit. Use it when the automatic boundary is close and a mask would protect the face better than another replace. Do not stack three replaces on overlapping layers and hope they agree. Each replace redraws only its layer, and the seams between them are your problem to see.
Credits stay simple: 5 for the 2K split, 3 for a recolor, 4 for a replace, refunded when the call fails. The guest preview does not export, so it cannot be the file you send a client. Nothing here invents a user count or a success rate. The picture in front of you is the evidence.
A useful delivery note lists the layer you changed and the layer you left alone. “Replaced the background. Did not touch the face layer. Hands were fused to the cup, so they were not repaired.” That is more honest than a before-and-after with no comment, and it matches what the tool can actually do. If the face layer was not clean, say the face was not protected.
Keep the saved project. Generated images attract a second note. The stack is how you apply it without another 5-credit split. PhotoCraft is how you mask the seam if the second note is smaller than a layer. There is no statistic on this page about how often that works. Look at the layer bounds and decide. A caption in the wrong language is edit text or remove text, not a reason to regenerate the portrait.
Stop after one successful edit unless the next note is on a different layer you have already soloed. Stacking replaces on the same region makes the seams worse, and each replace is another 4 credits. The flat split price does not make repeated redraws free. If the note is only a color, stop at recolor and do not replace the layer afterward.

No inpaint brush and no font-matched text repair. Edit text, replace, recolor, and hide are the repairs the editor can run.
The split is the same operation. This page is about the edit you make after the layers exist. The generation-focused page is [AI image to layers](/ai-image-to-layers).
Yes, when that object is its own layer. If it is fused, the edit includes the fused pixels.
Only by editing the layer that contains them. There is no dedicated hand repair.
5 credits to split at 2K, 3 to recolor, 4 to replace. Failures on those AI calls are refunded.
Yes, when the background is its own layer. Replace or hide that layer and leave the subject unselected.
Yes — you can split one image per day at 1K without an account to preview the layers. Full-resolution 2K layers and PSD/PNG ZIP export use 5 credits per split.
A layered Photoshop PSD where every element is its own named, transparent layer at its original position, or a ZIP of transparent PNGs plus a composite.
Posters, product shots, social graphics, characters and AI-generated images with clear subjects. Very busy photos can merge small details into one layer.
Credits are refunded automatically when a split fails or times out.
Uploads are used only to create your layers and are not shown publicly or used for training.
Yes, you can use exported layers from your own images in commercial work.
